The Rural Social Scheme (RSS) is aimed at low-income farmers. To qualify for RSS you must be in receipt of a social welfare payment. People participating in RSS provide services that benefit rural communities. Participants are given the opportunity to take part in training, improve their skillset and meet new people.
If you are eligible for the Scheme but don’t wish to participate, your spouse/civil partner/cohabitant/child or sibling may take the available place.
As a participant you will work 19.5 hours per week, based on a farmer friendly schedule.
