Creative Outdoor Approaches to Wellness for Teens
The vision of Creative Outdoor Approaches to Wellness for Teens is to support the mental health of teenagers in Offaly while also enhancing their connection to themselves, their community and Offaly. Many young people, particularly those who are from minority groups, experience social isolation and marginalisation, which have profound impacts on their health and wellbeing. By using nature based activities and outdoor exploration skills, this project aims to strengthen teenagers to be more resilient, manage emotions and improve their connection to those around them. Acquiring mental health tools and an appreciation for nature positively impacts young people’s development but also improves their social connections with others and their communities.
This project is a collaborative programme designed by OLDC and TUSLA with support from Creative Ireland.
