The Offaly Refugee Resettlement Programme supports and facilitates refugees to settle into their homes and the community, accessing services and increasing capacity and independence. The project will also facilitate and support the establishment of lasting relationships and networks within the community.
The project provides orientation visits to community services, support with arranging appointments and transport, guidance to accessing services independently and information on local training, employment, community and voluntary services.
The project also provides cultural awareness and diversity training to local services, agencies, schools and community groups as appropriate.
The project is steered by the Offaly Interagency Refugee Working Group which is chaired by Offaly County Council. Funding for OLDC as the implementing partner for this project is provided by the Irish Refugee Protection Plan (IRPP) and the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) both of which are part of the Office for the Promotion of Migrant Integration in the Department of Justice and Equality.
