This year’s Tullamore Show will see an exciting collaboration between OLDC and the Offaly County Enterprise Board. Taking place on Sunday August 12th, the show will feature a dedicated Food, Craft & Lifestyle Village sponsored by these two Offaly development organisations to showcase the best in small food production and craft making in the faithful county.

The Food Village will showcase delicious locally produced food including breads, cheese, meats, chocolates and sweet treats developed and made by Offaly food producers. Just some of the exhibitors will include Meadow Sweet Apiaries, Vanilla Bean Bakery, Clanwood Organic Farm, Derryvilla Blueberry Farm, Ashgate Butchers & Ballybryan Bronze Turkeys. A tented village will bring all these producers under one roof where the sights, smells and tastes promise a feast for the senses.

The village will also contain a pavilion dedicated to craft and lifestyle exhibiting all you need for house and home and all made in Offaly. The work on display (and for sale) will include custom made furniture, soft furnishings, jewellery and gift items as well as lifestyle products and sports equipment such as locally made hurleys. Some of this year’s exhibitors include Heartworks, Rosi’s Glass, Linda Kelly Design, Nevin Hurleys & artist Tanya Bond.

According to Pauline Hoctor of  OLDC the Food, Craft & Lifestyle Village sponsored by Offaly County Enterprise Board and OLDC under the Rural Development Programme will give over 40 entrepreneurs the best opportunity available to promote and sell their produce.

Orla Martin of the Offaly County Enterprise Board says the Food, Craft and Lifestyle Village is one of a number of initiatives designed to help people who are in the process of setting up or growing their businesses. She hopes the village at the Tullamore show will encourage other entrepreneurs to make the first move to make their business ideas a reality.
