OLDC aims to support local community organisations in a number of ways. Our community development staff can assist your group in getting set up, identifying local needs/issues and in planning and delivering responses. This work is done in conjunction with other statutory agencies where relevant - through initiatives such as Building Healthy Communities.

Also, OLDC offers support to communities in providing community based youth initiatives .

If your group requires additional help to carry out its activities, maybe a worker could be made available for a number of hours per week through the Tús Initiative or the Rural Social Scheme.

Advertising a volunteering opportunity through Offaly Volunteering Information Service may find your organisation a volunteer with the skills and experience you require to complete a particular task.

Or perhaps your organisation has an idea for a community project that could be funded under the Rural Development Programme.
